Does Oxfordshire Lack Vibrant Villages? This is your Chance to Prove us Wrong
Oxfordshire Rural Community Council is running the 2005 Village of the Year Competition and has only had 2 entries! This is low compared to other counties. Does this mean that Oxfordshire’s villages are less active and caring? ORCC knows this is NOT so – but we need you to help us prove otherwise and to spend the £500 prize money available.
You have 3 weeks to 1st September to send us an expression of interest telling us what a vibrant and community-minded village you live in.
Entries will be judged on how well everyone is involved and looked after and on how enterprising the village is in areas such as young people, older people, business, environment and ICT.
One lucky village will also have the opportunity to go forward and represent the county in the prestigious national English Calor Village of the Year® competition, with the chance of gaining recognition at national level as well as a share in the £36,000 prize fund.
Entry forms are available from ORCC on 01865 883488, email: orcc@oxonrcc.org.uk
