Judging for the Past Winners award will also take place in August. This award is contested by small and medium sized villages that have won their class during the past four years. The villages to be judged are: -

Bassingham, Binbrook, East Keal, Freiston, Greatford, Hagworthingham and Harlaxton.

The competition is run by the Community Council of Lincolnshire on behalf of the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) and sponsored by Calor – the UK’s leading supplier of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), with additional support from Lincolnshire’s District and County Councils, Pennells of Lincoln and Tucann Design and Print.

Competition organiser, Teresa Palmer, commented: “Congratulations to all the communities that have made it through to the final round of judging. Residents have done extremely well keeping standards as high as they have to date and there are now just a few more weeks to go before their hard work may pay off so it’s very exciting. This year’s finalists are a good mix of communities that have won in previous years and some that have never won before which is great for the competition and bodes well for future years.”
