How does the local community support local businesses and vice versa?

What employment opportunities do these businesses offer to local people?

Is there any community enterprise in your village? eg telecottage, collection/delivery service, bus/taxi service?

Do the businesses present any environmental difficulties and, if so, how are these tackled?

Does the village do anything to encourage or help existing businesses or try to attract new one? If so what is involved?

How does the community deal with any loss of services, eg post office, shop, bank?

Are there any new initiatives trying to make up such a loss?

Do local crafts flourish on a business basis? Is local produce sold?

What attitude does your parish council have towards business?

What about ‘not for profit’ enterprises?

Is anything done to revive businesses that may have closed?
