How your entry is assessed |
|
Your entry will be assessed and marked as follows:
All national Calor Village of the Year® for England competition judges have been selected because of their experience of and background with county village competitions and the organisations involved with running those events.
The judges are independent and give their services to the Calor Village of the Year® competition for England on a voluntary basis. Calor does not influence the judging teams in their task and abides by their decisions. The Judges' decision is final and no reasons will be given.
The Regional and Final round judges will award up to a maximum of 15 marks for each of the Part A categories 1 to 4. Plus a further 20 marks for Part B. Making a total of 80 marks to be won (the visit gives villages the opportunity to expand further on their written category submissions).
In addition, both teams of judges can give an overall individual assessment award up to a maximum of 20 marks to each village. (These marks will reflect how each individual judge has viewed the village and its effort. Effectively it is a mark for the “buzz factor”, that special feeling or impression a village tries to make on its visitors.)
This makes for a maximum of 100 marks (written entry plus visit).
Feedback to villages will be provided upon request after the 2008/2009 Calor Village of the Year® Awards in December 2009 (subject to no unforeseen circumstances).
