The village of Inkberrow is a busy community where there are lots of events and activities to entertain people of all ages, with clubs specifically for younger residents, senior clubs and annual events that are popular with both villagers and visitors from further afield alike.
A monthly magazine – What’s On, is delivered to every household in Inkberrow free of charge, and this is the main means of communication within the village. It includes information on current events and services within the village along with a report from the parish council. Villagers are also invited to attend parish council meetings and have an opportunity to raise concerns and issues during a public question time before each meeting. In order to welcome newcomers and to ensure they’re made aware of all the village’s events and services, a pastoral care network has been set up.
There are some excellent facilities in Inkberrow, including a village hall, a parish education centre, a sports pavilion and a village green. All of them are extremely well used and there are no restrictions on any group using any of the public buildings.
The village is particularly adept at caring for its environment, for example the centre of the village is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and a conversation area. Recycling and litter picking are regular activities which also help to preserve the village environment. The village’s Millennium Green is the most impressive of Inkberrow’s environmental achievements. A nine acre area, it is administered and maintained entirely by volunteers and offers recreation, disabled access, wildlife and historical interest – all within a stone’s throw of the village centre.
Inkberrow is situated east of Worcester and has a population of about 2,000.
